Outcomes
- Explain current evidence-based, ethical responses and interventions for trauma;
- Select and apply the appropriate support practices of a Chaplain for people affected by trauma, such as domestic and family violence;
- Identify client needs and respond with appropriate care or referral;
- Integrate understandings of trauma into a self-care plan for Chaplaincy professionals;
- Explain how to apply a Christian framework that identifies and works holistically with the survivor, recognising the role defence strategies play in the client’s survival.

- Complex trauma
- Social factors relating to trauma, violence and abuse
- Trauma populations, e.g., domestic and family violence; refugees, disasters
- Abuse and trauma prevention and early intervention
- Trauma Informed Care and Psychological First Aid
- Christian frameworks for chaplaincy responses and interventions to trauma
- Boundaries, self-care, and emotion regulation
