  1. Recognise a range of addiction theories and analyse the cause, development and effects of different types of addiction;
  2. Acquire relevant technical and communication skills to apply an understanding of addictions in a range of contexts including, alcohol and other drug work;
  3. Identify appropriate community resources, facilities and professionals you could work with or refer to as a Chaplain;
  4. Express the core values and principles of work with additions into practice;
  5. Identify the ethical and legal issues involved in working with people with addictions.
