Unit Content

Outcomes

  1. Select specific educational leadership issues requiring correction or modification. Where possible, this should be conducted in collaboration with other leaders;
  2. Assess identified school leadership problem using a biblical framework;
  3. Critically evaluate the literature pertinent to the problem;
  4. Construct a problem-related intervention in the form of an action research cycle;
  5. Appraise the result of the action research cycle and plan subsequent action;
  6. Summarise the process and results of the action research.

Subject Content

  1. Appraisal of issues influencing school leadership contexts
  2. Identifying problems and proposing solutions based on a research question
  3. Understanding action research as redemptive action
  4. The processes, or steps, involved in constructing an action research cycle
  5. Constructing and implementing an action research plan
  6. Analysing research data and practically implementing plans based on the results
