Outcomes
- Observe elements of the cultural, community and family contexts of children’s lives and identify a range of teaching and management approaches and strategies, including the giving of verbal or non-verbal instructions, for an early childhood education and care centre environment;
- Describe strategies that support students’ wellbeing and safety working within the early childhood setting, and legislative requirements;
- Define a range of intentional teaching practices-including monitoring, planning and recording that engage children in learning appropriate to their interests, abilities and needs;
- Demonstrate an understanding of the realities of working in an early childhood setting context;
- Discriminate by observation and reflection the practices of professional educators;
- Demonstrate increasing competence in a broad range of general teaching skills including: planning, implementing, assessing and reflecting on learning experiences;
- Understand and apply a range of theories, ideas and practices in relation to motivation and management in early childhood setting contexts from a Christian context.
