In this course, students will cultivate the skills needed to effectively teach Mathematics to secondary school students, aligning with Years 7-10 syllabuses crafted by BOSTES and ACARA. It introduces curriculum, pedagogy, and assessment principles while fostering critical engagement with various teaching discourses. Students will examine socio-cultural and multicultural contexts, critique teaching methods, and develop their teaching philosophy. The course explores strategies for integrating technology into lessons and assessing mathematics proficiency.
Major in pure or applied mathematics (must include algebra and calculus); only one unit of statistics may be counted.
