Upon completion of this subject, students should be able to:

  1. Explain the current legal framework in which Australian Church and NFP organisations operate.
  2. Evaluate the historical relationship between the Church and NFP organisations and society.
  3. Analyse the ethical and theological dimensions of the regulation of churches and church-related NFPs.
  4. Assess the major public policy issues behind recent and proposed changes to Australian governing NFP’s law.
  5. Demonstrate an ability to apply non-profit governance and/or regulation to contemporary church situations.
