Amrinder Singh

Bachelor of Business

My journey has been a great learning curve that pushed me to go beyond my limits of self-centred thinking and teaching to inspirational leadership and role modelling in the classroom. I had the privilege of studying alongside world- changing lecturers and leaders who were incredibly supportive. I loved discovering that learning is a way of life, and I now try to instil that within all my students.

Su Pheng Lim

I was studying the same degree at different university, but then I realised I needed to find a place that aligns with my worldview - after finding Alphacrucis I have never looked back.

Abigail Comafay

The Bachelor of Business gave me the skills to gain a promotion to Executive Business Manager in my current employer. One of my favourite aspects of the degree was that it was taught from a Christian perspective which really helped me in the business world as a Christian.

Student Visa Conditions

If you are an international student applying for a Student visa (subclass 500) to study at AC, you need a Confirmation of Enrolment (CoE) from AC and a valid visa from the Department of Home Affairs for the duration of your course.

Once you have accepted your offer and have been issued with a valid CoE, you will be able to apply for a Student visa. As an Australian Student visa holder, you are required to comply with your visa conditions. If your CoE is ever cancelled due to a breach of university rules or visa requirements, this may have an impact on your Student visa.

For detailed information on the various visa options available for Australia, we recommend consulting the Australian Government’s Department of Home Affairs website or seeking guidance from a qualified education or migration agent. Please note that Alphacrucis University College is unable to offer advice on visa types beyond Student visas or provide migration-related guidance.

What are the entry requirements for courses?

International Students

In general, the same academic requirements for Domestic Students apply to International Students.  For those wishing to study an undergraduate course (eg. a Bachelor degree), a minimum high school international equivalent of an Australian ATAR of 65 is required.  Postgraduate studies (eg. Masters or Graduate Diplomas) require the completion of an AQF level 7 Bachelor degree or higher, with each award having its own unique entry requirements.
International Students must also provide evidence of English Language Proficiency — IELTS or equivalent. The minimum IELTS or equivalent score required differs by award so check the course pages on our website for details.
Applicants from Australia, Canada, New Zealand, Republic of Ireland, United Kingdom or United States of America are exempt from demonstrating English language proficiency. Applicants must submit either an Australian Citizenship Certificate, Australian Birth Certificate or passport from Canada, New Zealand, Republic of Ireland, United Kingdom or United States of America as proof of identity to qualify for this exemption.
All other international students are required to demonstrate English language proficiency. This may be demonstrated in one of the following ways:
  • Completion of at least five (5) years of secondary studies or a Certificate IV (or higher) in Australia, Canada, New Zealand, Republic of Ireland, South Africa, United Kingdom or United States of America;
  • Completion of one year of full time study of a secondary or tertiary qualification at AQF Diploma level or higher where the medium of study was English;
  • Completion of an approved English language proficiency test within two (2) years from the time of commencement at AC.
For Initial Teacher Education (ITE) courses, IELTS (or equivalent) is not required for applicants who have successfully completed at least two years of full-time study (or equivalent) of a secondary or tertiary qualification at AQF Diploma level or higher, where the medium of study was English and completed no earlier than two years prior to the commencement of the course of study to which the student seeks admission.
AC accepts the following English language proficiency test:
  • IELTS (International English Language Testing System) – Academic only
  • PTE (Pearson Test of English)
  • Test of English as a Foreign Language – Internet Based Test (TOEFL iBT) – TOEFL iBT tests that were completed between 26 July 2023 and 4 May 2024 will not be accepted as proof of English language proficiency evidence for international students.
  • CAE (Cambridge English: Advanced)
Applicants are encouraged to contact the International Student Office if they are unsure of the equivalence of their English language proficiency test scores.
International students for Social Science and Teaching will also be required to take part in a pre-admission interview to assess suitability.

How do I apply?

If you require a valid student visa to study in Australia, you can apply here.

If you don’t require a student visa to study in Australia, because you plan to study fully online from offshore, or are already on another visa with no study restrictions, please use our main application.

If you are an educational agent submitting applications on behalf of students, please use our agent portal.

You can save your application and log back in to complete and submit it at any time.

If you need assistance, please contact us.

Who assesses and processes my application?

The International Student Office (ISO) is responsible for overseeing the Simplified Student Visa Framework (SSVF) program at Alphacrucis University College (AC) and will assess your application. Agents can assist their clients in completing successful applications by referring to this application information.

What criteria do I have to meet to be eligible for a VET package course?

Information about the admission criteria requirements for entry into a course is available on each course page.

What is considered a complete application?

A complete application is comprised of an online application with every question answered and the following documents (minimum) uploaded to the application: a certified (notarized) copy of your passport, evidence of your English language proficiency (such as a valid IELTS Test Report Form), and academic transcripts. Some courses require additional documentation, such as an interview or professional reference, and this will be requested on the online application form.

When is my application incomplete?

Incomplete applications are those that do not provide responses to every question online or are missing the necessary supporting documents for Stage 1 in the International Student Application Process page. These applications will not be accepted as valid applications due to their incomplete nature. The ISO will request a Study Intention Statement if questions in the Genuine Student section has not been completed in full. Repeated failure to supply a complete application may result in the applicant being deemed non-genuine and the application being rejected. Failure to complete multiple applications may result in no new applications being accepted.

What are ‘certified’ (notarized) documents?

All supporting documents should be certified. A ‘certified copy’ is a copy of an original document that has been authorised (or notarized) as being a true copy of an original. A list of people who can Certify Documents can be found  here.

How do I know if my documents are current?

The following documents must meet these restrictions to be considered current:

  • Passports: 6 months validity beyond the start date of the applicant’s course. (in compliance with Australian Immigration Law)
  • IELTS (or equivalent documents used as evidence of English Proficiency): no more than 2 years old.

Documents must meet these requirements on the day they are received by the ISO. Please contact the ISO if you are unsure if your document is current: iso@ac.edu.au.

What should I write in my application?

Always complete your application in your own words. You should give clear, specific and personal information in your application. The information you provide in the Genuine Student section of the application form help us understand the reasons you have chosen to study in Australia and at AC, and demonstrate that you are a genuine student. Do not copy reasons for choosing to study from another person or from other sources (such as the internet).

What is a Confirmation of Enrolment (CoE)?

A CoE is the document required to apply for – or extend – a student visa. You are encouraged to check over your personal and course details on your CoE before you apply for a Student Visa and advise the ISO immediately if you notice any errors in your details.

What if details on my Confirmation of Enrolment (CoE) are incorrect?

Contact the International Student Office (ISO) immediately if you notice any errors in your details: iso@ac.edu.au or (02) 8893 9000.

When should I expect to receive a response to my application?

AC aims to respond to initial applications within 2 business days during non-peak periods. Applicants who submit complete applications, and who return signed offers and fees promptly can expect to receive a CoE within 2 business days from the time of confirmed receipt of funds. Incomplete applicants will result in a delay in issuing a CoE.

Can I defer the start date of my studies?

Applicants wishing to defer the commencement of their studies to the following semester may apply by contacting the ISO and completing a Deferral of Studies Form. If you have a package with a partner institution, an updated offer letter from the partner must be supplied. If approved an amended offer letter from AC will also be provided, which must be signed and returned to the ISO before a new CoE Certificate is issued. Applicants may only defer the commencement of their course for a maximum of one year.
Please refer to International Student Policy and Admissions Policy for more information.

When do I need to submit my application?

Applications must be received a minimum of 15 business days before the start date or enrolment date of the first course in the applicant’s package. Applications received less than 15 days before the start date or enrolment date will not be considered for the intended start date and will be required to defer their studies to the next practicable start date. Application validity length will still apply.

Why was my application deemed non-Genuine?

Applications may be deemed as not meeting the Genuine student requirements or a number of reasons, including but not limited to:
  • You did not meet the entry requirements for your chosen course
  • Some or all of your application did not appear to be your own words
  • The application did not demonstrate a clear reason for studying the chosen course in Australia
  • The application suggests you are not likely to complete your chosen course
  • The application suggests you are not primarily coming to Australia for the purpose of study
  • The application suggests your stay in Australia is not temporary

What is Plagiarism and how do I avoid it in my application?

Plagiarism occurs when phrases and sentences are copied from other sources without credit. As applicants are required to supply their own personal reasons for choosing their course of study, information from other sources is not acceptable. Applications that contain identical answers for more than one applicant will be considered plagiarised. All applicants are given the same opportunity to submit genuine statements in the first instance, therefore applications found to be containing plagiarism will be deemed non-GTE.

What payments must I make to get a Confirmation of Enrolment (CoE)?

You will need to pay a non-refundable $200 enrolment fee when you first apply. Upon receiving your Offer Letter and Student Agreement, you will need to pay your first semester fees before receiving your CoE. Indicative fees can be found here.

What kind of financial assistance does AC offer?

AC does not accept unsolicited scholarship applications or payment plans for initial tuition fee payments. All fees must be paid upfront and in full before studies can commence. It is recommended that you do not apply before you have access to the full fee payment. Applicants must also be confident they can continue to meet the fee payments each semester, as payment plans are not available at any time during a student’s course.

What do I do if I require a refund?

The AC refund policy is available here. If you believe you are eligible for a refund, you will need to complete the online Refund Request Form.

What happens if my course ceases to be offered?

In the unlikely event that AC defaults (fails to start or ceases delivering a course at your designated location), AC will refund the International Student, within 14 days, the proportion of pre-paid fees for the weeks not provided, unless:
  • The student has withdrawn from the course before its cancellation, or
  • The student accepts, in writing, an alternate course arranged by AC.
If AC is unable to meet its obligations to arrange an alternative course that is accepted or to refund the unspent prepaid tuition fees, the Australian Government Tuition Protection Service (TPS) will assist the student in finding an alternative course at another provider or obtaining a refund.
For more information about the TPS, please visit https://tps.gov.au.

What do I do if I have further questions?

Please ensure you have read this FAQ page thoroughly. If you still have further questions, please contact iso@ac.edu.au. We will attempt to respond to your query as soon as possible.

What is the cost of living in Australia?

You’ll need to consider the cost of living in Australia on top of your tuition fees. For example, accommodation, transport, food, textbooks, utilities, flights, entertainment, etc.

The Australian Department of Home Affairs requires students to have the financial capacity to cover living costs of a least AUD $29,710 (as at 10 May 2024). This does not include your tuition fees.

The cost of living varies depending on the city you’re studying in. To get a better idea of your cost of living, please check out Study Australia’s Cost of Living Calculator.

What type of accommodation is available for international students?

International students have several accommodation options, ranging from short-term to long-term stays:
  • Short-Term Accommodation: Many students start with options like hostels, hotels, or short-term rentals through platforms like Airbnb to familiarise themselves with their new city.
  • Long-Term Accommodation:
    • Homestays: Live with a local family and experience Australian culture firsthand. A list of homestay providers is available on the Study in Australia website.
    • Purpose-Built Student Accommodation: These facilities are designed specifically for students. You can find a list of accredited accommodations on the NPAS website.
    • Rental Properties: Lease an apartment or house through a real estate agent or directly from landlords. Many students share housing with others to reduce living costs. Rental listings are available on websites like Flatmate Finders or Flatmates.com.au.
