Modes

Choose from Online or In-Person, or combine the two.
In person / Face-to-Face modes
  • Weekly campus classes
  • Intensives or multi-day extensives*

*Intensives/Extensives enable those working full-time to take time off for learning whilst still having the entire semester to complete readings and assessments. Intensives are taught in-person, typically over a week. Extensives could be 5-6 single day sessions spread out over a term.

In additional to classes at AC’s campuses, we also run classes in satellite campus locations and Teaching school hubs (for education courses only).  Check the course pages for details on each course.

Online Modes
  • Online Live**
  • Online On-Demand (with live tutorials)***

We also offer live access to faculty during office hours and 24/7 support to our online library and other support services (such as Studiosity and Grammarly) so students can get personalised help with coursework.

** Online Live classes are conducted via Microsoft Teams (Alphacrucis provides free access and licenses for all students) and are usually timetabled at a set time. Students who miss live classes will be able to access the class recording.

*** On-demand means that students can access the subject lectures at any time via an internet-connected device. On-demand subjects still offer students the option of live tutorials for class discussions, groupwork, and access to tutors.

Mix modes to fit you and for connection and community
When you start a course at Alphacrucis, you can choose a primary mode of learning – online or on campus or a blend of the two to fit your life and your schedule. We find that students may start on one primary mode but end up choosing a mix of modes throughout their course.

STUDENT EXAMPLE 1
For example, a student who chooses on campus as their main mode may not be able to come to campus for classes on a particular day. Since they prefer live classes, they can choose subjects that offer Online Live for the live learning experience.

STUDENT EXAMPLE 2
Another student that chooses online as their main mode may have their schedule freed up in a particular period and decide to take a subject face-to-face on campus.

The ability to mix different modes offers you the best of both worlds - the support of face-to-face time with teaching staff and students, combined with the added flexibility of online learning anytime, anywhere.

Whatever you choose, our goal is make your learning journey at AC as flexible, rewarding and enriching as possible.

That is why we offer individualised learning support, live tutorial support, online discussion forums, and other student support services.

All students (campus or online) are welcome to visit a campus for regular gatherings and events. Most of our campuses hold weekly chapel services, with at least once-a-semester larger gatherings where there are guest speakers, free lunches, and activities.
