Biography

Kyung Sik Joo is AC's Sydney Korean Campus Coordinator and a Korean-language lecturer in theology and church history. He has extensive experience in theological education, with nearly two decades of teaching and administrative work at various theological colleges in Sydney. He served as a lecturer in the Korean Theology Department at Wesley Institute, where he also held the position of Acting Principal.

He was a foundational member in establishing the Korean School of Theology at Sydney College of Divinity (SCD) and worked there for many years as a lecturer and Academic Dean. Before joining AC, he was a senior lecturer at the Australian College of Christianity, where he taught systematic theology and church history.

Kyung Sik earned his PhD from North-West University in South Africa with a thesis on Calvin’s theology of assurance and its application to the Korean Church. He also holds degrees from Chong Shin University (B.A., M.Div.) and Charles Sturt University (M.Th.).

He has published research on Calvin, ecumenism, and multiculturalism in Australia, and is on the editorial board of the Korean Journal of Humanities and the Social Sciences.
