Biography
Professor Stephen Fogarty is President of AC, a self-accrediting higher education provider and the national training college of Australian Christian Churches. He has held this position since 1999. His role involves providing leadership to the academic and administrative staff and students of the College and representing the College to its various constituencies. Stephen was born and raised in Western Australia. He is married to Sandra, and they have three married adult children and five grandchildren. He enjoys running marathons, reading literature, attending symphony concerts, and following the Sydney Swans AFL team. Prior to his role at Alphacrucis, Stephen had many years' involvement in pastoral ministry and has pioneered three churches. Stephen has earned a Diploma of Bible and Ministry, a Bachelor of Arts (Economics), a Master of Arts (Theology), and a PhD in Organisational Leadership. His research explores transformational and servant leadership, and the relationship between leadership and follower motivation. He frequently presents at conferences and seminars and speaks at churches, colleges, and conferences. Stephen’s research focuses on Organisational Leadership, Church Leadership, and Volunteer Motivation. His book, 'Light a Fire: How to Effectively Motivate Volunteers in Your Church,' examines the relationship between leader behaviour and volunteer motivation. He chairs the Asia Pacific Theological Association, Alphacrucis College New Zealand, and is a board member of Asia Pacific Theological Seminary and the World Alliance for Pentecostal Theological Education. Stephen is a member of the Pastoral Theology and Ministry research cluster.
