Biography
Sharon Garro is a Registered Psychologist with over 18 years of experience as a counselling and educational psychologist. Sharon has completed degrees in Psychology, a Masters in Counselling, and a Masters in Applied Positive Psychology (University of Melbourne). Her passion lies in helping people know their identity and move towards goals that allow them to live out their values and meaning, whether through counselling, professional supervision, professional coaching, or in her role as a Senior Lecturer. Sharon is the Director of Postgraduate Counselling Studies at Alphacrucis University College, and her favourite part of the role is teaching and mentoring students as they train to become counsellors and people-helpers. She remains active as a practising professional psychologist, professional supervisor, facilitator of teacher professional development, consultant psychologist, and educational and leadership coach. She is currently undertaking a PhD in the area of Teacher Wellbeing in Christian Schools. Sharon has full registration with the Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency (AHPRA) and is a Clinical Member of the Psychotherapy and Counselling Federation of Australia (PACFA).
