The double degree in Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Applied Social Science allows you to pursue your own area of interest with specialised training in applied social sciences. This program provides a comprehensive understanding of human behaviour, social systems, and cultural contexts, alongside practical skills in areas such as counselling, chaplaincy and pastoral care, youth work, community work, or cross-cultural community work. You will benefit from learning under qualified and experienced professionals, gaining both theoretical knowledge and practical experience to effectively address a wide range of social issues.

Accredited Counsellor (with CCAA): Work in schools, community organisations, career counselling, and drug and alcohol rehabilitation.
Community, Case Worker, or Youth Worker: Support individuals and groups within community settings with a deep understanding of social dynamics and cultural contexts.
School, Hospital, Community, or Other Chaplain: Provide spiritual and emotional support in various institutional settings, drawing on a rich arts education.
Policy, Project, or Family Support Officer: Develop and implement programs to support families and communities, with a holistic understanding of societal issues.
Cultural and Social Researcher: Conduct research to inform and improve practices in social services and community programs.
Further postgraduate study with Alphacrucis University College: we can equip you for specialist areas such as family, marriage, and trauma counselling, leading to more senior roles in the field or a career in research and academia.

Entry Requirements
Recent Secondary Education (within the past 2 years)
Completion of NSW Higher School Certificate (HSC) with an ATAR of 65 or higher (or the completion of the International Baccalaureate or interstate or overseas equivalent qualification and result).
Special admission is also available for Year 12 students whose ATAR (or equivalent) falls within 5 points of the published guaranteed ATAR but have done well in subjects relevant to the course of study.
Vocational Education and Training (VET)
Applicants with a complete Certificate IV or higher by an authorised institution or registered training organisation are advised to seek provisional entry.
Work and Life Experience
If you are over 21: apply for admission and complete the provisional entry qualifying period to become a full candidate of the course.
Pre-admission Interview
The Program Director will conduct a pre-admission interview (either face-to-face or phone or online) with all applicants to assess academic suitability and preparedness of the applicant for this level study.
International Students – Language Requirements
IELTS (or equivalent) Score of 6.5 (with no score below 6.0 in any of the four skills areas).
