Overview

Welcome

Welcome to Australian Christian Churches (ACC)  Ministry Essentials Course. This course focuses on the ‘essentials’ for ministry and is designed to provide you with practical knowledge and skills. These are tools that will assist you as you navigate the exciting journey of ministry. Remember though, tools require both use and maintenance – make sure you are well connected with your local networks and seek assistance when you need it.

This course is designed to be undertaken as a 2-day face to face session (Intensive) delivered by your local ACC State leaders. This online component will provide you with the resources needed for each of the 12 topics which will be covered in the Intensive. This takes the form of a Participants Guide and Enrichment Resources. There is also an Online Discussion Forum for sharing your ideas on questions posed in the Participants Guide if you wish to use this in addition to the discussions in the Intensive.

Module 1: Evangelism and Discipleship

Answer some questions and engage with your own personal reflection on evangelism and discipleship.

Module 2: Community Engagement and Influence

In this module, you will develop a tangible plan on how you can personally approach community engagement in your own context, and effectively lead change.

Module 3: Pentecostal Distinctives

Explore the ACC’s core beliefs, the significance of the baptism in the Holy Spirit and reflect on spiritual gifts in your ministry.

Module 4: Pastoral Care, Ethics and Grief & Loss

Navigating conversations of grief and loss can be tricky, reflect on how this applies to your own ministry setting. As you explore examples of pastoral care, you will be equipped with responses for those situations.
