Welcome to our short course on Wellbeing and Self Care. 

We are so glad you are joining us as you learn about the importance of personal and professional wellbeing. We hope this course will inspire and equip you to understand and apply principles of wellbeing and self-care, to ensure health, longevity and balance. 

Topic 1: Introduction to the Biblical narrative

Explore the importance balance, sustainability, and fulfilment in your vocation, whether that is ministry, counselling or any people support role. Uncover the positive outcomes associated with looking after your own wellbeing, as well as your capacity to ethically lead and support others.

Topic 2: Complementarianism Vs Egalitarianism

Understand how to implement boundaries and rest in your life, while analysing your own perspective and cultural understandings of how you function in professional settings. 

Topic 3: Building & Sustaining Self-Care

What does self-care mean to you? In this topic, you will focus on how to build a self-care plan as well as how this can positively affect your physical, emotional, psychological, relational, spiritual and contextual wellbeing in your personal and professional life. 

Topic 4: Wellbeing in Ministry & Helping Profession Contexts

Have you ever heard the saying that you can only pour into others from an overflowing cup? In this topic, we will explore the way that those in ministry and people helping professions need to ensure their capacity is strong, while still leading & understanding unique needs of their environment to pour into others.

Rebecca Loundar
Rebecca Loundar is Head of the School of Health and Human Sciences. She has been a practising psychologist for over 25 years and is endorsed as a Clinical and Counselling Psychologist. Rebecca has a broad range of experience working with individuals and groups in a variety of settings, including clinical and community (including not-for-profit) based psychology services, education facilities, and corporate environments. She has been an active member of government and community committees and has provided clinical consultation and training to psychologists and counsellors. Her research interests include psychosocial well-being and societal issues including domestic and family violence. Rebecca is a member of the Holistic Human Health research cluster.
