  1. Examine theories that underpin working with relationships and develop an understanding of the impact of systems, separation, divorce, step family, extended family, mental and physical health, behavioural and attitude patterns on relationships;
  2. Develop knowledge and skills in relationship counselling based on a range of modalities, including assessment, treatment planning and intervention;
  3. Practice, analyse and critique skills via counselling role plays based on acquired skills;
  4. Develop resources to assist in relationships counselling, incorporating appropriate theories and practices.
