Students will embark on a 10-day pofessional experience placement within the vibrant landscape of early childhood or primary education. Aligned with previous insights based on classroom engagement and management, students will immerse themselves in the realm of early childhood education, wokring with children aged between 3-5 years or alternatively primary school learners.

Outcomes

  1. Identify a range of teaching and management approaches and strategies for an early childhood education and care centre environment;
  2. Describe principles, practices and legislative requirements and how they contribute to supporting students’ wellbeing and safety within the early childhood setting;
  3. Discriminate by observation and reflection the practices of professional educators;
  4. Demonstrate increasing competence in a broad range of general teaching skills including: planning, implementing, assessing and reflecting on learning experiences;
  5. Understand and apply a range of theories, ideas and practices in relation to motivation and management in early childhood setting contexts from a Christian or alternate context.
