Unit Content

Outcomes

  1. Appraise the legislative requirements and teaching strategies that support participation and learning of students with disability;
  2. Synthesise research into how students learn and the implications for differentiating teaching for the full range of student abilities, and diverse backgrounds (multilingual and sociocultural);
  3. Appraise teaching strategies that are responsive to the learning strengths and needs of students from diverse linguistic, cultural, religious and socioeconomic backgrounds through the lens of a Christian or alternate service/school context;
  4. Critically evaluate and reflect upon practical approaches to managing challenging behaviour;
  5. Demonstrate increasing competence in a broad range of general teaching skills including: planning, implementing, assessing and reflecting on learning experiences;
  6. Understand and apply a range of theories, ideas and practices in relation to motivation and management in early childhood setting contexts from a Christian or alternate context.
