Outcomes
- Analyse the merits of two approaches for supporting the improving of reading and writing for diverse learners in Years 3-6 and a full range of abilities;
- Discuss the outcomes of the ACARA Curriculum and NESA K-10 English Syllabus and the legislative requirements to meet the specific learning needs of diverse students across a range of abilities;
- Evaluate chosen texts relevant for teaching effective reading and writing to students in Years 3-6;
- Critically review the role of research-based evidence related to theories for improvement in reading and writing;
- Identify a range of teaching strategies and their application in teaching writing in their chosen content areas; addressing relevant syllabus outcomes and assessment;
- Identify, plan and assess authentic and engaging lesson sequences for a range of abilities that are responsive to the learning needs and strengths of all students, including those from diverse linguistic, cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds.
