Curriculum Objective

At the successful completion of this unit, students will be able to:

  1. demonstrate a thorough knowledge of place of healing as found in the story of Scripture and tradition of the Church;
  2. assess the attributes and dynamics of the spiritual gift of healing;
  3. evaluate the various healing methodologies available to contemporary congregations;
  4. explore varying denominational views regarding healing and key people who operate in this area;
  5. present research findings on a special topic in healing ministry;
  6. understand the place of healing in the current context of the ministry of the Church.

  1. Healing in the Bible.
  2. Healing in Christian history.
  3. Theological perspectives on creation, fall, disease, redemption, and healing.
  4. Scientific research on spiritual healing.
  5. The spiritual gift of healing.
  6. Controversial aspects of popular healing methodologies.
  7. Special topics in the healing ministry of the Church;
  8. Guidelines for planning and conducting healing services.
