Ministry Internship 2 builds on Ministry Internship 1. It provides a chance for students to continue the challenging but rewarding combination of academic reflection upon contemporary ministerial issues and hands-on ministry.
Like Ministry Internship 1, you will work with an experienced supervisory mentor (no family members or close friends!), complete a 100 hour placement over the course of semester, with a variety of formats to choose from.

Unit Content
Curriculum Objective
Building upon the experience of the Ministry Internship 1, this course seeks to increase the student’s confidence and expertise in the practice of public ministries of the church. The process should equip the student to develop skills in order to be able to exercise their own mentoring ministry.
Subject Content
- Ministry placement
- Involvement in the process of mentoring and reflection with an appointed pastor
- Class teaching and group interaction
- The practice of pastoral ministry: Platform ministry pastoral visitation Administration or other approved specialisation
- Reflection on the philosophy of ministry – personal and church experience
- Critiquing of the practice of ministry
- The development of personal spiritual disciplines
- Developing a personal strategy for pastoral ministry
- Short term ministry intensive (= 2 weeks)

Critical Book Review (25%, 1250 words); Portfolio (25%, 1500 words); Reflection Essay on mentoring experience (50%, 2500 words)
