In 2013, the 200 year anniversary of Children’s Ministry in Australia. Rev Thomas Hassall was still a teenager when he stepped up to the call to help impact the next generations. This all started in his house on the corner of George and Charles Street, Parramatta.
We are looking forward to launch the ACC Kids Children’s Ministry units available for flexible online delivery in 2015.

This course is available for Domestic students only.
The purpose of this course is to develop ministers. This course sets out the foundational skills necessary to minister, in particular within a Christian context. These include:
- Personal spiritual disciplines
- Biblical knowledge and interpretation
- Theological knowledge and interpretation
- Pastoral ministry skills
Ministry can take place within a variety of contexts; this includes Administration, Chaplaincy, Children’s ministry, Church planting, Community work, Creative ministry, Leadership, Cross cultural ministry, Women’s ministry and Youth ministry.
This course is intended to provide participants with the following general education outcomes:
Ability to apply spiritual disciplines
Demonstration of a broad knowledge of the Old Testament and New Testament
Ability to identify and apply Christian worldview and values
Ability to apply knowledge of pastoral ministry to a broad range of contexts, and depth in the area of specialisation
Demonstration of general research skills, particularly the ability to gather, understand and evaluate information
The course recommends attendance at a Towards Safe Places workshop. If you have attended one within the last two years you do not need to attend. Make sure you submit your current certificate of attendance. To find dates for the Safe Places workshop click here.
English ability will need to be at the IELTS 5.5 (International English Language Testing System) level or higher, since written and oral forms of communication are an important part of the course (http://www.ielts.org).

Whether you have a church with tens or thousands of members, the Local Church College (LCC) enables you to engage your church as they develop and build their leadership skills in an interactive and encouraging learning environment. Using AC’s e-learning units, students spend time reflecting and studying in the comfort of their local church.
LCC is designed to resource your church members and community, regardless of background or age, as students join together in groups to discuss what has been learned. The nominated facilitator oversees the group’s administration, encourages and provides guidance to the students.
How you supplement the course is up to you. Enhance your church vision and culture as you create a unique learning environment for your congregation and beyond. AC will support your facilitator to help make this a successful and fruitful experience for your church.

I [God] looked for someone among them who would build up the wall and stand before me in the gap on behalf of the land so I would not have to destroy it, but I found no one (Ezekiel 22:30, TNIV).

As part of the STAND IN THE GAP YEAR you will help build broken walls. Our world is full of broken walls; family breakdown, child abuse, slavery, sexual exploitation, poverty, spiritual blindness. What walls can you help rebuild?
You will need to STAND! There is a gap between God and the world. Who will STAND before God on behalf of the land?
Enrol in the Certificate IV in Ministry through your local church or as a distance student and STAND IN THE GAP for your community.
2. Our Nation
Enrol in the Certificate IV in Ministry at Alphacrucis College, Sydney, and STAND IN THE GAP for our nation. You will get to visit other local and regional churches, serve at significant conferences and events (Big Exo Day, Planetshakers) and meet new friends to STAND with.
You can also enrol for the NSW Youth Alive internship and STAND IN THE GAP for the young people of NSW by being a part of a team that is transforming a youth culture.
3. The World
Enrol the Certificate IV in Ministry at Alphacrucis College, Sydney, missions stream and head off on a missions trip overseas and help build broken walls around the world.
You will need to have a passport and the missions trip will cost extra.
STAND IN THE GAP YEAR extreme is for students who wish to mix their choices, combining options 1, 2 or 3.
