Book Release - Our College - the 66-year history of AC
Our College is a historical account of Alphacrucis College (AC) and its 66 year history as the national college of the Australian Christian Churches (Assemblies of God in Australia).
Written by Dr. Denise Austin, Our College is a detailed and colourful narrative that draws from countless historical documents and first-hand interviews. This book reveals how AC has been integral to the unity, vitality and growth of the Australian Christian Churches movement; and how its graduates have played a leading role in impacting Australia and changing the world.
Our College provides inspiration to all those seeking to equip others or to be equipped for the work of Christ on the earth.
“Bible Colleges have always played a vital role in Pentecostalism’s history, from short-term courses at the beginning of the movement to the accredited universities and colleges offering graduate programmes today. This timely and well-researched history of the leading Australian Pentecostal college is to be welcomed.”
Professor of Mission and Global Pentecostal Studies, School of Philosophy, Theology and Religion, University of Birmingham
“The routinization of charisma and institutionalization of spiritual fervour – isn’t that what happens when Pentecostals begin pursuing theological and other higher forms of education? Not necessarily, as Denise Austin shows. Our College unlocks the secrets of how to nurture the life of the mind in tandem with Pentecostal intensity amidst the bureaucratizing forces of tertiary education in the late modern world.”
Dean and J. Rodman Williams Professor of Theology, School of Divinity, Regent University
